Free Throw

Free Throw

By Mary Guimont

Tick, Tock,

Five seconds count down on the clock.

Then it will be game.
A free shot needs to be made.

The nervous player stands in the spot
Where he hopes he won't forget how to make his shot.
He nervously hits the ball from hand to ground.
The audience quiets and makes no sound.

NO time to spare.
The player throws the ball in the air.
The crowd looks grim

.As the ball rolls around the rim.
Swish the ball is in.
Two points the team wins
