Protection

Image
by Mary Guimont I see the tears fall softly down upon your face And my own heart begins to brake. I want to protect you and keep you safe. From life's pain and heartache. But in order to laugh you have to cry. In order to live you have to die. The happiness and laughter children know Does not last as they grow. The happiness you have today Is gone tomorrow it is not yours to keep but only to borrow. I can not protect you from the pain As the seasons of your life take change But I can lend a hand, a shoulder And be your friend. Nourish your soul until your heart mends

Imortality

Image
By Mary Guimont                        Yesterday I saw your smile, You shone bright At First, Dawns Light I heard your laughter Echo through the walls of my home As my son laughed out loud alone.  Today, I saw you fly       As eagle   In the sky Looking down Without a word or a sound The nearness of you I knew As he flew. I heard you whistle outside As you did when I was a child But to my surprise It was a bird outside Without hesitation Or fear. The bird came near. I saw you last night As a shooting star Rainbows of light. Burst in flames In your flight You were on Your journey, To Eternity

Free Throw By Mary Guimont Tick, Tock, Five seconds count down on the clock. Then it will be game. A free shot needs to be made. The nervous player stands in the spot Where he hopes he won't forget how to make his shot. He nervously hits the ball from hand to ground. The audience quiets and makes no sound. NO time to spare. The player throws the ball in the air. The crowd looks grim .As the ball rolls around the rim. Swish the ball is in. Two points the team wins by Mary Guimont

My Misery                                                                   By Mary Guimont I look ahead And what do I see A life with uncertainty I look and try to find A different road Then the one I left behind But I can’t move ahead Because the road, I have taken has no end It meets over again From start to end Bringing me to places I have already been When will this madness end? And a road of happiness began
